BOGUS CENSUS COLLECTORS

How’s that for doing the right thing? As good citizens we are expected not only to fill out the Census Form, but to hand it over to the Census Collector when they come around to collect them.
The government stipulates that if we do not have the form filled out or delay in doing so, we are fined up to $110.00 for every day we delay at their discretion.
They say we are obligated to do the right thing for our country and as good citizens we all pretty much did as we were told.
What they failed to inform us was that pretty much anyone can pose as a Census Collector. These people are you, me and anyone out there. We are expected to have faith in the system and open our homes to whoever stands between our safety net and the outside world.

What sort of a system do we have? Did they not stop and think that no one really knows who the Census Collector is?
In today’s paper it says that a 55 year old man was beaten when he opened his door to someone claiming to be a Census Collector. A 59 year old man suffered the same fate, and a 33 year old woman was pushed back into her home by some thug yielding a knife claiming to be a Census Collector.
The police are asking the public to ask for identification before opening their door. To bad if you don't have a security door!
Not sure when I’m supposed to stop laughing!!!!!
Don’t we need to open our doors to verify their identification? And wouldn’t that give them a window of opportunity if they turn out to be the BOGUS Census Collector?
Is it really that difficult to come up with a sensible and safe solution?
What I have to say to the government on this matter is; you expect us to do the right thing by you, and we do, however, we have the same expectations of you. So do everyone a favour, save the tax payers some money, keep our people safe and supply reply paid envelopes with every Census Form sent out.
I don’t think it takes Einstein to figure this out, do you?
Share your thoughts on this and let me know if you feel the same way I do.
